Recently, I attended the PGA Show in Orlando, Fl. searching for good deals on great golf trips. As you can see in the photo above the golf industry was represented by over 1000 exhibitors and more than 33,000 buyers were there to see what's new in the golf world. The aisle you are looking at in the photo above feels like it's about a mile long.....you can't see the end of it.

Most of the Big Names in Golf were there (Titleist, Callaway, Ping, etc.). Their exhibits were about what you would see at your local PGA Superstore times 100.

For my post, I plan to focus on what you might not have yet seen at your local golf store or Pro Shop. Some of what I show you is never before seen stuff, while others are just different or unexpected.

One of the big hits of the Show was the golf carts. The theme seemed to be....if you build it, they will buy it. I failed to take a photo, but they even had a cart for us Florida folks; it was completely enclosed and fully air conditioned inside.

Photo on the left is Monster Cart (I never did figure out how you are supposed to climb up into the thing?)

The cart on the right was Limo Cart and was blinged out to the max.

Speaking of Bling, there was plenty of that too.

Gold chains and rings were available for every occasion.

And certainly, you can't have award bling without Trophy's, right?

Would you prefer metal or glass? They have both. You can even have Big if you want.

Trophy's

As indicated, most of the well-known club manufacturers were there. However, Taylor-Made and PXG were both surprisingly absent. I guess they don't need the marketing.

As one who used to do shows like this when I was in banking, I understand they are quite a commitment. It's twelve hours a day on your feet talking to people all day, plus a Show space and set up for someone like Taylor Made could be well over a million dollars.

Yet still for those who were absent, there were dozens of new companies there wanting to become the next PXG. One such company from New Zealand that caught our eye was Q Golf. Below are photos of the exhibit and their Ultimate Travel Club.

Admittedly, golf irons with adjustable lofts have been around forever, but this one actually works. You simply dial in the iron you want in two seconds and lock in the gear. The club adjusts from a sand wedge to a putter. The shaft also unscrews in the middle and the entire club takes up no more space than your socks in a suitcase.

My travel buddy and trusty photographer KDawg was so impressed, he bought one to bring home. (And he needed it; we played yesterday, and he discovered he had lost his 6 iron. Not to fear said he, and just dialed in # 6 using the Q Club)

If you have never been to the PGA Show, apparel represents about half of the exhibits. Your local golf store or Pro Shop will never be able to carry anything close to the selection offered at the Show.

The Show also featured many different lines of golf travel luggage, including many in leather and rainbow colors. In all my blog posts, I try and show what I think is different or unusual that you may not have seen but could be useful for you.

One of those items is called The Purist by Good Fellow Golf. It's a lightweight golf "stuff" organizer that offers dedicated slots for golf tees, ball markers, pencils, divot tool, golf gloves, scorecards, money/wallet, your phone, car keys and more.

I especially like this compact organizer as I have seen two of my golf buddies in the past year, lose their wallets and car keys during a round of golf. Also, as most of you know, I'm old, and I always try an carry "my drugs" in the golf bag. No, not those kinds of drugs; us old folks need aspirin, Advil, Motrin, Tums, breath mints and band aids.

Buy one of these Purist and always keep your "stuff" in it. It even has a special pocket for an Air Tag if your clubs go missing. The organizer easily slips into the long zipper pouch every golf bag has. See photo below:

Perhaps the biggest Show surprise to me was the addition of Pickleball. Me being old, I had heard of the game but never really seen it in action. There were two actual Pickleball courts set up for buyers to test equipment and play, along with probably about 25 booths selling all sorts of Pickleball stuff.

The game appears to be a mini version of tennis, which I never cared for. While the Pickleball court is only about 1/4 the size of a tennis court, it still requires running, which I now reserve for only if being chased by a bear or a Pit Bull. Color me out for Pickleball.

One of my favorite moments at the Show was meeting Taba Dale. For those unfamiliar with Taba, like me, she's a writer. Duh....okay I mean really, she's like a Real Writer, and not like me. Taba writes books, real books.

She is a close friend of my friend Dr. Tony Parker, who couldn't wait to introduce us. As my frequent golf trip partner, Tony well knows of my love for golf and wine. I actually have a love/hate relationship with both. I love golf but hate my scores. I love Good Wine but hate the price. No cheap wine for this ole boy.

Taba was at the Show promoting her new book Terroir of Golf, A Golf Book for Wine Lovers.

Need I say more, she had me at the title. Where can I get a copy, I'll read it tonight in the hotel? Sadly, the book is hot off the press and copies were not available at the Show but can be purchased through Amazon. I am eagerly awaiting my copy now!

If you like golf and wine, this book is a "must have."

To order your copy of the book simply go to one of the website's below:

In my search for other new and different stuff, I simply have to share my picture below. The thing that I'm standing on is a body/muscle relaxer for use after golf and/or other sports. I was told it will vibrate and massage your feet and legs. As you can see from the expression on my face it does a lot more than just work on your feet and legs. I think the two women behind me were enjoying my workout more than I was.

Since the stated mission of my blog is to help folks find information on Budget Golf Trips, I suppose you might be interested in golf trip opportunities advertised at the Show? And yes, there were plenty of those.

All of the golf travel exhibits were advertising travel into other countries. I did not see any travel locations within the USA advertised. By far, the country promoting the most golf trip activity was Ireland, with about 20 different course locations represented.

Other countries with exhibits were The Dominican Republic (DR), Mexico, Spain, Scotland and Portugal. I spoke with most of them and the best deals were being offered by The Dominican Republic resorts and courses.

I was especially impressed with the quality of the hotels and courses offered in Cap Cana, DR. One course that caught my eye is called Punta Espada. It's an ocean course designed by Jack Nichlaus and features 8 holes that play along the sea. I have added Punta Espada to my "go check out the course list." You can view the course and make tee times at www.golfpuntaespada.com. After my scouting trip there I'll be posting my review, and if it's half what the photos show, I'll be promoting golf trips to Cap Cana.

Speaking of travel, I know I have shared this with you before, but there is nothing worse than dragging a golf travel bag full of clubs across an airport. And then when you finally arrive at your destination, the last bags to come off the plane are always the golf clubs. I've spent upwards of an hour waiting in baggage claim for my clubs, and twice found a head snapped off a club.

Without question, the best way to send your golf clubs to your travel destination is with ShipSticks (www.shipsticks.com). They will pick up your clubs from your home and deliver them to your hotel or golf course, anywhere in the world. Once your golf is done, they gather your clubs and return them home to you. ShipSticks even covers your precious clubs with $1000 free insurance.

I will soon be planning to check out some of the Shows featured travel locations in Mexico, DR and Portugal, and when I do, I will definitely be calling ShipSticks to transport my clubs.

A PGA Golf Show would not be complete without a salute to the PGA and their Championship Trophy.

I hope I've been able to share with you just a taste of what the PGA Show is like and about. I intentionally avoided trying to cover every golf club known to man or the new color in golf balls. You see all that stuff at your local golf shop. And yes, there was a driving range set up with about 25 bays for hitting any club or ball at the show. Almost forgot the one acre putting green for trying the newest in putters.

For those who have heard the Show is closed to the public, that is correct. Hmmm......well how did you get in, some may think? If you are reading this, you are looking at My Blog.

As a blog writer, I am now considered an Influencer. So, my job now is to influence you to go buy some of this stuff. Who would have thought, I may be golf's new Kardashian?

We even had our own Influencer Lounge, complete with a coffee bar.

I would like to thank the PGA for inviting me to participate in the Show as an Influencer and I hope they approve of my approach to sharing my insights with you. Special thanks go out to Sherry Major with PGA Show Media Staff who was vital in getting me access to the Show. I sincerely look forward to a return trip next year for the 2026 Show.

As always, please sent my blog link to anyone who plays golf and may be interested in reading my view on golf travel.

And don't forget, every golf shot makes somebody happy!
